Model aircraft clubs

I know there are some guys who fly scale RC jets at the heliport in Jida, but I don't know if it is an organized club as such. I also know that there are 2 RC model airplane manufacturers and one company that manufactures props for everything from models to ultralights in the area.

Hi Orrin, Thanks for that info. Have you more details about the RC model air manufacturers. Last weekend we went to one RC manufacturer at Jinan near Doumen who has models from 60inches up to giant scale around 8feet wing span. Is anybody out there interested in flying RC aircraft?

The only manufacturer whose name I can think of is "Green Model", which may be the one you visited. I've been an RC modeler for close to 40 years, and would be very interested in getting together to do some flying.

The last time I was at the local flying field, which at that time was at a park at the northern end of Xiangzhou across from #3 middle school, I noticed that the local flyers don't have their transmitters set up on either mode 1 or mode 2. They use some very strange (to me) configuration with the throttle on the right stick, and I have no idea where everything else was.

I'd really like to get together with some folks to do some indoor flying if we could locate a suitable venue.

Hi, How big an area do you need? I have a factory 17 meters high, 30 meters wide and about 120 meters long.
It is in the Free Trade Zone. Sat or Sundays would be OK

@ Solo, a space 120 x 20 x 17 will be of enourmous interest to model aircraft people.

There is a semi exclusive club that operates out of the heli port. It was every second weekend but seems to have gone quiet.

There is a staggering number of model aircraft manufacturers in the area, and several of them are huge - but they keep a very low profile ... I have come across a few of them, including orrin's Green RC.

The boss of Green RC is an absolute model aircraft nut. I am told that last year he organised a big event for indoor flying.

If you want to know more, I can steer you to people who know more.

I found the Green Aircraft factory. Owner is a Mr Paul Lee. They do fly every Sat from 3pm to 6pm near the Tax office. Mainly electric. No proper runway. Anyone else interested?
