Zhuhai Exorbidant Inter School fees

Tags:

Hi,
Have any of you parents out there found an alternative solution for schooling your children in or around Zhuhai other than dismembering a limb in payment of a years tuision fee from one of the two international schools in Zhuhai?
Macau offers schooling at an affordable price but as i am a foreigner working in the PRC i pressume i have no rights to reside in Macau just for the sake of my childrens education!
If any one has some constructive suggestions or experience i would very much appreciate you sharing with us.
BTW,I have two children of school ages 5 & 8 years and 'NO' my company won't pay for their education!
Thanks.

You could always homeschool

You could always homeschool them if you're on a budget.

If the kids are good looking

If the kids are good looking it might be worthwhile selling them now while they are still young and using the proceeds to buy a spell checker. :-)

Thanks Bill for pointing out

Thanks Bill for pointing out my spelling errors, its a shame you don't have any intelligent constructive remedies for people sharing my situation.

I share the same interest

I share the same interest for answers as you, Dawei. This is the main reason the family is back living away from where I am. We've tried homeschooling for a year which worked well. However, my situation is very slightly different from yours where I have a 6, an 8 and a 16 year old where the eldest is due to graduate from high school this year and we opted for her to join her peers. They are all back in our home country and have continued regular school.

I am honestly torn between continuing to live in this situation or have them all here on home schooling. It's not an easy choice.

I am in a similar situation,

I am in a similar situation, but my kids are teenagers and much more difficult to place. Since your kids are young I think you should seriously think about putting them in a private Chinese school. Your kids will grow up bi-lingual assuming you will teach them English at home. I would definitely go this route if my kids were younger. Home schooling is not a real option. Most of the programs are a joke. Your kids needs to learn social skills by being with other kids their age.

The homeschooling we've had

The homeschooling we've had was home country-based and was not bad at all but I will not deny it doesnt compare to regular school development let alone the lack of social interaction that you pointed out. I agree it is not a real option.

We were at a point of putting the youngest to a local private school for the same benefit that you mentioned but one thing led to another that resulted to all of them settling back home again.

I am unable to provide suggestions for your teenagers but would be interested to learn of further developments from your end. Wish you well.

it wasnt the cost but the

it wasnt the cost but the quality that made me take my 12-yr-old back to india after a yr in an international school here.
gd chinese schools for kids so young seem the best option.
